Description |
Ornithine supplements are claimed to enhance the release of growth hormone and to burn excess body fat. Ornithine is necessary for proper immune function and good liver function. L-Ornithine is metabolised to L-arginine. L-arginine stimulates the pituitary release of growth hormone. |
Uses | L-ornithine is a non-proteinogenic amino acid, which means that it is not used in the synthesis of proteins in the body. It does, however, play a crucial role in the Urea Cycle. The primary health benefits of ornithine include detoxification, supporting muscle growth and recovery as well as improved sleep. |

Serum cortisol levels and the cortisol/DHEA-S ratio were significantly decreased in the L-ornithine group in comparison with the placebo group. Also, anger was reduced and perceived sleep quality was improved in the L-ornithine group.
